The role of the Goldfields-Esperance Development Commission (GEDC) is to coordinate and promote economic and social sustainable development in the Goldfields-Esperance Region of Western Australia. Our aims include maximising job creation, broadening local economies, identifying the need for infrastructure services, providing information and advice and ensuring equitable access to government services.
Are you passionate about your region? Do you have experience and knowledge relevant to regional communities? Are you currently involved or have experience in business, industry, finance, employment, education and training, health, mining, transport, telecommunication, tourism, recreation or marketing? If so, then the GEDC would like you to consider nominating as a member of our Board of Management.
Nominations are now open for a Community Representative position on the GEDC Board of Management, with nominations open to individuals or community groups currently residing in the region.
Applicants will be considered against the following criteria: proven decision making abilities at an executive level; a demonstrated involvement in either the economic, social or environmental development of the region; and the demonstrated ability to work cooperatively to achieve agreed goals across a wide range of issues and stakeholders.
The Minister for Regional Development will make the appointments to the Board.
Terms of appointment will range up to three years.
