A total of $553,000 will flow into the Goldfields-Esperance Region as part of the Goldfields-Esperance Community Chest Fund. Made possible by the State Government program, this small grants program, administered by the Goldfields-Esperance Development Commission, is in its second year and provides funds to smaller community projects, such as community events, arts and culture, youth and mental health programs as well as facility upgrades. The Minister for Regional Development, Hon Terry Redman MLA, today announced the successful applicants from the 2016 Community Chest Fund which closed on 17 March 2016.

GEDC Chairperson, Tony Crook, said “A total of 23 projects have been selected to benefit from the Goldfields-Esperance Community Chest Fund.  From supporting flagship community events like the St Barbara’s Festival to assisting community organisations with the upgrade of community facilities and equipment such as the Esperance Mechanical Restoration Club; the successful projects impact all reaches of our vast region and cover a range of community-based initiatives”.
