The Shires of Laverton and Dundas are the latest beneficiaries of the Goldfields-Esperance Revitalisation Fund, sharing a total of $9.46 million. The funding was announced in Laverton by Member for Kalgoorlie, Wendy Duncan on behalf of Minister for Regional Development Terry Redman.

The Shire of Laverton has been granted $8.01 million for the Laverton Community Hub project, which will provide the residents with a replacement swimming pool, a new indoor multi-purpose building as well as refurbish the town hall to deliver a new youth centre, office space and a community amphitheatre. The Shire of Dundas will receive $11.45 million for the Norseman Airstrip Upgrade project which will upgrade infrastructure at the airfield, in particular the runway, taxiway and apron pavements to provide aircraft with 24 hour access. GEDC Chair Tony Crook said both projects will "deliver significant flow-on social and economic benefits and contribute o the attraction and retention of residents in the region". GEDC has worked closely with both the Shires of Laverton and Dundas to ensure the business cases for the projects were strong and robust and met the requirements to access the Royalties for Regions funding.
