Launch of Regional Arts Australia Summit Highlights reaches out to the world

Thousands of people around Australia and overseas joined a crowd of art enthusiasts at the Goldfields Arts Centre on Friday 2 May for the launch of the RAA Summit Highlights. The event was livestreamed and included a welcome to interstate guests from WA Minister for Culture and the Arts, the Hon. John Day and an address by Frank Panucci, Executive Director of Arts Funding at the Australia Council. 

The Regional Arts Australia Summit will be held on October 16-19 in Kalgoorlie-Boulder. This national event, now in its 18th year,  is held every two years in a regional centre and attracts a large and influential network from across the country and the world. The event combines both conference and festival elements and is expected to attract up to one thousand participants.

The Summit will share the experience of desert life, networking, artistic programs and inspiring talks. An exciting program four day program with unique elements will showcase the cultures of the Goldfields-Esperance region to national and international visitors.

Keynote presenters, outstanding performances, strategic leadership discussions and master classes have been organised by Artistic Director Ben Fox who will present innovative theatre, dance, music, visual arts, writing, film and digital media with a focus on fresh ideas and best practice.
