Goldfields to benefit from $20.58 million investment

The Goldfields-Esperance region is set to benefit from the State Government's Royalties for Regions program for three new projects, receiving a $20.58 million investment through the Goldfields-Esperance Revitalisation Fund.
Regional Development Minster Terry Redman said the Kalgoorlie Central Hannan Precinct revitalisation project, Goldfields Rehabilitation Services and the Killarney Retirement Living project would all receive funding under the fund.
 
"The fund is helping build a social and infrastructure platform for the region's economic development and will drive growth and new investment," Mr Redman said.
 
"Royalties for Regions is investing in initiatives that deliver tangible benefits to regional communities."
 
The Kalgoorlie Central Hannan Precinct revitalisation will receive $8 million in Liberal National Government funding for the revitalisation of St Barbara Square area and Cassidy Street.
 
Goldfields Rehabilitation Services will use their $2.78 million funding boost for a drug and alcohol detoxification and rehabilitation program and the refurbishment of the existing facility and the construction of a new building in Kalgoorlie-Boulder.
 
The Killarney Retirement Living project will receive $9.8 million for the construction of a 45-unit independent living accommodation for pensioners living in the Goldfields-Esperance region. 
 
The Goldfields-Esperance Revitalisation Fund is a Royalties for Regions initiative that invests in priority projects to support economic and social development in the region.
