Governor's visit to Goldfields-Esperance
 

The Goldfields Esperance region boasted distinguished visitors in late June.  Governor Malcolm McCusker and his wife Tonya spent four days in  the Goldfields-Esperance region visiting schools, youth and community organisations as well as local government. They were accompanied during the Kalgoorlie leg of the journey by the 2013 Young Australian of the Year Akram Azami.

Over the Horizon Forum

Registrations are now open for the "Over the Horizon" forum, an annualOver the Horizon poster
event in Esperance. The event will be held on Friday 3rd May 2013 at the Esperance Civic Centre from 10.30am to 5pm.

Presenters include Hon Gary Gray (Minister for Minerals and Resources; Small Business; Tourism) or Tony Crook MP (Member for O’Connor), Andrew Murray (Chair, WA Regional Development Trust), Chamber of Minerals and Energy WA, Nicolle Jenkins (The Hub Marketing, Social Media), amongst many others.

The event, sponsored by the Esperance Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Goldfields-Esperance Development Commission gives the community a comprehensive insight into what is happening today and within the foreseeable future in the Goldfields-Esperance region.

Official Launch of GEDC Website

The GEDC Website was officially launched on Friday 19 April, 2013 byGEDC Chair Jon Price launching website
Chairman Jon Price.  "The new site is user friendly, attrractive and contains
tools that will be of great assistance to the community" Jon said.

Over thirty people attended the launch and listened to a presentation by Matthew Nicholls of Compelling Economics on the Economic Profiling tool provided on the website wich offers relevant regional economic profiling information to assist  businesses, future investors, government departments, not for profit organisations, students and community members.
